What is the register of licensed sponsors?
The Home Office list of every organisation licensed to sponsor people on the Worker routes (Skilled Worker, Health and Care Worker, Global Business Mobility, Minister of Religion, International Sportsperson) and the Temporary Worker routes (Charity Worker, Creative Worker, Seasonal Worker, Government Authorised Exchange and others). It is published on gov.uk as a spreadsheet and updated most working days. This page searches a copy refreshed every week; the date of the copy is shown under the results.
What does A rating or B rating mean?
A rating means the sponsor meets its duties and can assign certificates of sponsorship to new workers. B rating means the Home Office found problems and put the sponsor on an action plan; until it is back to A it cannot sponsor new workers, only extend existing ones. More on ratings .
The employer is not in the results. Does that mean they cannot sponsor me?
Not always. Try the legal company name (the register does not list trading names), a shorter word from the name, or leave out the town. A sponsor whose licence is suspended is taken off the register while the suspension lasts, and a brand new licence can take a few days to appear. What to check .
Why does a company appear several times?
The register has one row for each route and each location a sponsor is licensed for, so a large employer with several offices and several routes has many rows. They are all the same licence.
Does being on the list mean they are hiring?
No. The register shows who holds a licence, not who is recruiting or willing to sponsor. Many licence holders rarely use theirs. Use it to check an employer you are already talking to, or to find employers in your field and area to approach.
Can I share a result?
Yes. "Share picture" makes a clean image of the results with the search you used and the date of the register, for WhatsApp or a group post. "Copy link" copies a link that opens this page with the same search. "Download CSV" saves the matching rows as a spreadsheet.
